What do you have to release from your grasp now?
In order to make room for what is to come
Moving you past your past
Stepping up into a future that’s bigger
You figured out
How the work of the present
Presents you with presents
To hand off to those who are present
Knowing that the powers within you
To create, mold, and disrupt
Getting your hands dirty, clean
You’re battle scarred, experienced
Standing tall, righteous
Stepping firm, confident
All the while
Becoming the change you want to see in the world
Thought provoking. I’ve been pondering what to release and what to keep in order to make the best use of my time, talents and skills to serve others. I read a book called Essentialism this summer, and the idea is to figure out what is truly essential and forgo the rest. Practice saying “no,” in other words.
Thanks for the reinforcement. It takes constant and deliberate effort to assess what’s truly essential and release the nonessential.

Essentialism is a great book Suzy. Pair it with The One Thing by Gary Keller and you will be able to narrow down what’s important and what to let go of. For extra credit read The Magic Japanese Art of Tidying and you will be supercharged.

I have read the Magic of Tidying book, and I’ve been cleaning house! The One Thing is on my to-be-read list (which is really, really long). 🙂
