How to Get a Higher Return on a Complaint

  • Offering up your complaint as a suggestion will almost automatically make the receiver of the complaint an ally.
  • Never chastise, berate, curse or otherwise mistreat who you are complaining to; 99% of the time it’s not their fault and would really like to fix the problem.  Cursing them out in front of everybody more than likely will not get you what you want.  It’s always better to pull them to the side and let them know privately what the issue is.
  • Always be clear, direct, and say thank you for listening.
  • Let them know you’re reporting the complaint because you know they can be part of fixing the problem.

Don’t Be Average

They say you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.

Then how do you raise it?

To many of us are satisfied with what just is – but not people like you and me.

If we don’t accept the status quo lets help elevate the averages of all those we come in contact with.

By-products

The only way to get better at writing is to write everyday.

The byproduct will be you’ll have a body of work to look back upon with the added benefit of the momentum of shipping daily.

What by-product can you get from the work your already doing?

Gambling

Mind racing

With all these to do’s

I’m pacing

Inside my head

Figuring out what to drop and what to push ahead

Its not how much you get done

But what really matters

Is the thing your doing right now going to take you up another level?

Or are you just pulling on levers

Trying to hit the jackpot

Gambling with your time and focus

Hoping the bells ring and lights flash

Ready to cashout

Embrace Challenges

Never be afraid of taking on new challenges.  Let them take you to new places, change your thinking, inspire and excite you!

Look at the challenges you take and those that come your way as opportunities for you to grow and learn.

Grammatical Errors

if you understand What’s being said does it really matter if the writer missed a comma or mis-used the punctuation! mark or even misspelling….

I’ll admit it I’m terrible at punctuation and grammar as a whole.  Awful problem to have for someone who enjoys writing.  I know there are a million and one tools to use to improve on this.  I also know things can be taken out of context.   But if you know what is being conveyed does it really matter if every if there is a minor error here or there.

Character Over Reputation

“Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because you character is what you are really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.”             – John Wooden
