6:AM House Party

Every school day there is a 6:AM house party in my kitchen.

Music is playing, kids are singing, and & everyone is dancing through their morning routine.

I for one used to love the silence of the early morning. The quiet and stillness to begin the day. But I’ve been converted & have joined my dancing quartet.

Most people would probably think we’re a bit crazy & thats ok. We’re just doing what works for us. The kids wake up ready to jam & conquer the day.

Maybe you should try it…start your day with a party. Singing & dancing to music that moves you.

Broken Shovel

Broke my shovel

Digging myself out

Of all the self-doubt

Thats creeped into me

Can’t recognize who’s in the mirror

Even though clearly I see

Made a choice to level up

I leaped

Landed on my feet running

Only to trip on the unforeseen

But it feels eerily like I’ve been here before

Kinda’ like deja vu

I can handle the work

I can handle the pain

I can handle the stress

What I can’t handle is losing the belief in me

Perfectly Good Excuse but Not For Her

She could have gotten a doctor’s note or even one from her parents as to why her work wasn’t completed.

She had the perfect excuse in order to get more time to complete it. But that is not who she is.

So while everyone else slept she stayed up late. Completing the last part of project 1 before heading to bed herself.

But that’s not the last of it. The next morning she got up just a bit earlier and started and completed project 2.

No one told her to do yet she did. Everyone else was ready to throw in the towel – offer up an excuse. The thing is, excuses, for her haven’t ever held any value.
